Medium ruby red colour with typical varietal aromas, including wild cherries, red currant and hints of rosemary.

Vintage: 2019

Grape: Sangiovese
Grape origin: The vineyard estates of Matracchio, Lodola and Badelle.
Altitude: 270 -350 metres a.s.l.
Exposure: Varying, depending on the vineyard.
Soil type: Alkaline, with layers of clay, sand and silt, of Pleistocenic origin at Matracchio and Lodola and of Pliocenic origin at Le Badelle.
Age of the vines: 8 - 20 years old.
Training system: Cordon Spurred.
Vine density: From 5,200 to 6,200 vines per hectare (from 2,080 to 2,480 vines per acre).
Vinification
Harvest: Picking took place between October 1 and 10.
Vinification: The fermentation was spontaneous with the use of indigenous yeast. Alcohol fermentation and maceration on the skins lasted from 10 to 20 days, depending on the individual lots. Malolactic fermentation took place in large, Slavonian oak casks.
Ageing: 5 months in oak and a minimum of 3 months in the bottle.
Alcohol: 13.5%
Total production: 65,000 bottles.
Tasting notes
Medium ruby red colour with typical varietal aromas, including wild cherries and red currant, underlined by a light, balsamic touch. The taste is round and distinct, with a long, delicately spicy finish.
